The Slim Fit Pants are classic casual style pants for boys or girls; slim and neat fitting in the hip with straight leg shape, elastic in the back waist, a front zip fly and standard jeans-style pockets on back and front. The pattern includes a knee length shorts option.

Sizes: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 to fit children 2 to 12 years old.  A size chart in centimetres and inches is included in the pattern.

Fabrics: Medium weight woven fabrics are the most suitable: linen, cotton drill, denim, corduroy, wool and similar fabrics. Stretch denim and drill are ideal for these pants. Choose fabrics that are not too thick. I used a cotton drill and a medium/light weight washed denim. 

Experience: advanced beginner to intermediate. Neat and accurate seaming is essential; one buttonhole is required and a zipper fly placket. A zipper foot attachment is necessary to sew in the zip.
